Sandbach resident, local business owner and Sandbach FC Reserves player, Matthew Timms is putting on his running shoes to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.

One of the Directors of Amplo Group, based on Crewe Business Park, is running 26.2 miles to support the charities’ efforts to find a cure and improve the lives of those who are affected by the disease.

On the 3rd April, Matt will be taking on the epic challenge with friends and family there to watch him cross the finishing line.

The challenge is part of the company’s pledge to raise at least £2,022 in 2022 for charity. Throughout the year, Amplo employees will be taking on a number of challenges and making donations to well-known and local charities.

In 2021, the company raised funds for Nantwich based charity, Smile Group as well as Movember and Operation Christmas Child.

Matthew Timms commented: “I am really looking forward to taking on this challenge and raise money for such a worthy cause, Parkinson’s UK is a charity close to my heart as my fiancé Sophie’s grandma suffers from it. My training is well underway and seeing people’s donations coming in makes the cold, dark early morning and late night runs worthwhile”
