Co-founder of the Amplo Group and one of the three Directors of Amplo Commercial Finance, Matthew Timms is wise beyond his years when it comes to Business Management, Property and Commercial Finance.

Starting his journey at Sheffield University where he studied and achieved a Business Management Degree. The foundations of his upcoming ventures and the key skills, knowledge and experience that led to growing a successful business in the heart of a North West City, working with well known companies and now supporting businesses to grow their business to their full potential.

At the age of 21, Matthew started and was a major shareholder and Director in a hugely successful Affiliate Marketing business. The Manchester City Centre based company grew from three Directors to a team of 30, all varied in separate fields such as IT, Marketing, and more. As Operations Director, Matthew oversaw the day to day operation of the business working closely with the different departments as well as the overall management of the business with the two other directors.

The company went through the Corporate Finance process of selling to Venture Capitalists, later deciding that this wasn’t the route that they wanted to go down. However, Matthew gained invaluable knowledge and experience from the process which can be useful for the future.

After over 4 years of overseeing the Operations at the company, Matthew exited in December 2016 at the age of 25 looking for a new challenge. At the time of exiting, the company grew from scratch to turning over £2.2million.

With a keen interest in property, Matthew started to invest in property, starting with 4 flats in the Wirral. This then led to investing in more properties in Crewe, refurbishing them to later rent out. At this moment in time, Matthew’s impressive portfolio consists of 7 properties and 4 flats.

During his time of investing in properties, this is where he met his business partner Scott Williams (co-founder of Amplo Group). The two started investing in properties together and at a later date, joined forces with Michael Carr.

The trio hasn’t stood still since, as a Group they have four brands: Amplo Commercial Finance, Amplo Leasing, Amplo Mortgages & Financial Solutions and Amplo Agricultural Finance – all revolving around Finance and Property.

Matthew’s role at Amplo is Operational whilst focusing on Business and Asset Finance. With first hand experience of running a business, he understands the pain points of business owners.

He has worked with large name companies such as Bet 365 and Sky Bet and currently working with businesses who are renowned and pioneering in their field such as Whitby Morrisons, Ice Cream vehicle manufacturer. Regardless of the size of your business, there is a thorough understanding that not every business is the same – a tailored solution and service will be provided to every single client.

As well as working with household names, Matthew supports start up ventures either by investing in them or supporting them by arranging finance.
